Greenland shrimps live in their natural habitat as opposed to many farmed warmwater species. Due to low water temperature, they grow very slowly – most of the catch is between 4-6 years old. During this period, cold-water shrimps get unique flavour and texture – differentiating them from tropical species. Fresh, succulent shrimps are not only a feast for the palate, they also contain a wide range of nutrients. They are low in calories (80-100 kcal in 100g), high in protein, and polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3 in particular).
Octopus’ meat has unique texture – it is very smooth and firm. Octopus’ diet based of high-quality shellfish gives it a mild, sweet flavour. Octopus is an ideal component of a healthy diet as it is low in calories and rich in protein; it also has a low fat density. On top of nutrients typical for other seafood (i.a. omega-3 fatty acids), octopus’ meat contains large amounts of iron. According to some of its admirers, octopus also boosts libido.
Our squid lives in open waters of the North Sea. Fresh squid is slightly sweet, very firm yet tender. It is a great source of iron, calcium, zinc, selenium, and B vitamins.
